In mid 2000 a bold venture was underway to develop a full bodied commercial robot.  Servo was designed in just a few weeks – then an unknown number of prototypes were built, at least one of which may have made it back into academia as a research platform.  We’ll talk more about Servo soon.  In the meantime, below are a couple of photos and renders:
