Facebot

Known to some as Pearl 2, or even mistaken as the original Pearl, Facebot is in fact a very different robot. Even more so, she was 36 different robots, part of an extensive Human-Robot Interaction study at CMU funded by the National Science Foundation. Her eyes could be 3 different sizes, in 3 different locations (distance between eyes), and she had different sized foreheads and jaw lengths. Each configuration came together cleanly, upholding the feel of a finished product, thus optimizing results in the research. Again, a robot like no other, helping to define and evolve an industry still in its infancy.
